The development of the 412 started in the 1970\'s, originating from the 212, and culminated in certification in 1981. It\'s features a 4 blade main rotor, rather than the 2 blade on the 212. Subsequent development lead to the 412SP, special performance, with increased fuel capacity, higher take-off weight and more optional seating arrangements. The 412HP superceded the 412SP in 1991 and included better transmission for better hovering performance.
Current Standard production model is the 412EP, Enhanced Performance including the PT6T3D engine and dual digital automatic flight control system, with optional EFIS displays. |
