The EC 145 is a development of the Bk117 medium1 twin-multi mission helicopter powered by two Turbomeca Arriel 1 E2 engines.
Thanks to its spacious cabin and flat floor, the EC 145 can be configured for a multitude of missions such as passenger transport VIP transport, SAR and EMS missions, law enforcement service operations.
The EC 145 - alias BK 117C-2 introduces new technolgies and components from the EC 135. Main differences are: a new main rotor with blades featuring optimised profiles and a tapered planform. It gives more lift and produces less noise a longer (0,2 m) and wider (0,18 m) cabin, with the so called ""center post? eliminated systems like electrics and heating based on EC 135 experience new avionics with colour displays, based on the EC 135.
